Please read these terms carefully before using our services
Effective Date: February 22, 2026
Welcome to Champak Paun. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Champak Paun is a family-owned business based in Kathmandu, Nepal, specializing in handcrafted lapsi (hogplum) snacks. Our products include traditional candies, titaura, pickles, and dried lapsi, all made using recipes passed down through generations. We serve customers domestically in Nepal and internationally in the USA, Australia, UK, Japan, and Canada.
By using our website, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or guardian. These Terms are governed by Nepal's Consumer Protection Act 2075 (2018), Electronic Transaction Act 2063 (2006), and E-Commerce Act 2024, as well as applicable consumer protection laws in the countries we serve.
Our pre-order system allows you to express interest in our products. Submitting a pre-order form is an expression of interest and does not constitute a binding purchase agreement until we confirm your order and payment is received.
For customers in the United States, we comply with the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule. If we cannot ship within 30 days of the promised date, we will notify you and provide the option to cancel for a full refund.
Prices for domestic orders are listed in Nepali Rupees (NPR). International orders may be priced in USD or applicable local currency. All prices are subject to change without prior notice, though confirmed orders will be honored at the quoted price.
Our products are handcrafted in small batches. Natural variation in color, texture, and size between batches is normal and is not considered a defect. This is a characteristic of artisanal, hand-made food products.
Allergen Warning: Our products are prepared in a facility that may also process tree nuts, sesame, and mustard. While we take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. Our products contain spices including chili, cumin, fenugreek, and timur (Sichuan pepper). Please check individual product labels for complete ingredient lists.
Choking Hazard: Some of our products, particularly hard candies and dried lapsi, may pose a choking risk for children under 3 years of age. Adult supervision is recommended.
For international orders, customers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, and fees imposed by their country of destination. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that our food products are permitted for import under their country's regulations. We ship via tracked courier services. Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon handoff to the shipping carrier. Delivery time estimates are approximate and not guaranteed.
Due to the perishable nature of food products, returns are limited. We accept returns and issue refunds for products that arrive damaged during shipping, products that are incorrect or different from what was ordered, or products that are materially misrepresented. To request a return, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the issue. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days. These terms do not affect your statutory rights under Nepal's Consumer Protection Act or applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
Our products are made without artificial preservatives using traditional preservation methods. Shelf life varies by product type: candies (6 months), titaura (8 months), dried lapsi (10 months), and pickles (12 months). Products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Best-before dates are clearly marked on all packaging. Once opened, products should be consumed promptly or stored according to package instructions.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the product(s) in question. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. For domestic customers, any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal. For international customers, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the Nepal Council of Arbitration (NEPCA) in Kathmandu, conducted in English. Both parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal dispute resolution.
